Brazilian Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry Association (UNICA) represents the leading producers of sugar, ethanol (fuel alcohol), bioelectricity, and bioenergy in Brazil’s Center-South region, with a strong presence in the State of São Paulo.

Its creation in 1997 was the result of the merger os several industry organizations in the state of São Paulo, following the deregulation of the sector in Brazil. The association represents and advocates for interests of bioenergy producers both in Brazil and around the world.

UNICA is governed by a Deliberative Council, composed of representatives of its members, alongside a team of experienced executives, specialists, and full-time technical consultants. Its expertise encompasses key areas such as environmental, energy, technology, international trade, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, legislation, economics, and communication.
