UNICA Forum
Created in 2016, the UNICA Forum is a conference dedicated to addressing the most pressing issues shaping the sugarcane and energy sectors in Brazil and globally.
Originally intended to be held biennially, alternating with the Ethanol Summit, the event was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2016
The fundamental role of clean energy, particularly biofuels and biomass, in Brazil’s ability to meet the commitments made at COP21 in Paris, was prominent among the event’s main themes, as were incentives for sustainable agriculture and renewable energy production.
2018
The year 2018 was pivotal for both the sugarcane industry and Brazil as a whole, with the upcoming October elections considered among the most significant in the country’s recent history. In response to this critical moment, UNICA dedicated its flagship event that year to hosting and engaging with the leading presidential candidates, highlighting the importance of the sector in the national political and economic agenda.
