DDG

DDG

In the production of ethanol from corn, only the starch is fermented, while the remaining proteins and fibers are converted into DDG (Dried Distillers Grains). DDG is mainly used as a high-protein animal feed in livestock farming, offering essential nutrients for cattle, swine, and poultry.

Vinasse

Fertigation using vinasse—a byproduct of ethanol production—enables the simultaneous irrigation of crops and the return of essential nutrients to the soil, including potassium, calcium, and magnesium. This process replaces the use of chemical fertilizers. In Brazil, approximately 40% of sugarcane plantations employ this technique, promoting both environmental sustainability and economic efficiency. As vinasse is composed of about 98% water, fertigation also exemplifies effective water resource management.

CO₂ Food Grade

Food-Grade CO₂

During the industrial production process, carbon dioxide (CO₂) is generated as a byproduct. When captured and purified, this CO₂ can be repurposed for use in various industries, including the production of carbonated beverages, dry ice, and as a preservative in the food industry.

Bioplastic

Bioplastics are produced from ethylene derived from the fermentation of ethanol, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional petroleum-based plastics. These materials are recyclable, degrade in the environment within a few months under appropriate conditions, and have a lower carbon footprint, not contributing to global warming

Cosméticos

Cosmestics

Principles extracted from sugarcane are being used as the basis for the production of a wide variety of cosmetics, including perfumes.

Food

Products from the sector are widely used in the food industry, particularly in the production of artificial flavors, essences, and beverages.

Medications

Industrial ethanol is used in the formulation of pharmaceuticals, such as syrups, oral solutions, and topical preparations. It serves as stabilizer and preservative.
