UNICA abordará vantagens do etanol de cana no WIREC 2008

Alternativas renováveis de energia serão discutidas no Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC 2008), evento que será realizado na capital dos Estados Unidos, Washington, de 3 a 7 de março, com a participação de autoridades governamentais de diversos países, empresários e lideranças internacionais (Leia mais em “Qualidades do etanol brasileiro serão tema da WIREC 2008”, notícia de 22/01/2008).


 


Representando a UNICA estarão seu presidente Marcos Sawaya Jank e o representante-chefe do escritório da associação nos Estados Unidos, Joel Velasco. Jank mediará o painel "Projeções para o Mercado Global de Etanol" e Velasco, as discussões sobre "Tecnologia Atual de Produção de Etanol". Ambos realizarão ainda diversos contatos com o intuito de expandir a interação da associação com representantes do mercado internacional.


 


Organizado pelo governo americano, o evento destina-se à expansão do mercado de energia renovável. Com mais de 5 mil participantes, a edição 2008 da Conferência Internacional sobre Energia Renovável de Washington (WIREC) é a terceira reunião mundial sobre o assunto.




A iniciativa fez parte do projeto Apex-Brasil/UNICA, iniciado em janeiro deste ano, em parceria com a Agência Brasileira de Promoção de Exportações e Investimentos (Apex-Brasil), ligada ao Ministério do Desenvolvimento, Indústria e Comércio Exterior. O objetivo do projeto é promover a imagem do etanol brasileiro de cana-de-açúcar como energia limpa e renovável ao redor do mundo.
